April Math Madness!

Hello,
Well here is an update on my Spring Break!  My husband went back to work on Friday(Sadsville!)  He took vacation while we were on Spring Break and let me tell you as hectic as it was I enjoyed every minute.  My husband works opposite schedules as me so he is off during the week and works on the weekend, so this vacation was much needed family time.

I am super sad that I have to go back to work.  Its going to be so hard to leave my babies again.  Well on a bright note we have some fun units coming up in school and a field trip so that will cheer me up.  Its so nice to go back to school after a vacation and have your students so excited to tell you everything (I mean everything!)  they did.

Don't forget everything is on sale at my store so go clean out your wishlists.  This sale is perfect timing because I have something new to share with you:

April Math Journals.

Everything you need to implement math journals in your classroom is included.

This packet contains 30 math journal prompts. Each prompt comes in two versions. One to show on your Smartboard and one in a cut and paste format. The cut and paste page has multiple copies of the same prompt to make it easy for students to glue onto math journals. It also contains math journal covers and math journal paper.

These journals are designed to encourage your students to broaden their mathematical skills and use higher order thinking. There are a variety of skills covered: addition, subtraction, place value, number representation, number ordering, number combinations, and fair shares.

Just click on the picture to head on over to TPT.

Or you can stay tuned because I have some awesome news to share with you later today.  Yes I know that I will be breaking some rules but I can't help it.  Its too awesome!
To be continued....

Earth Day Fun!

Hello!
Well here is an update to my so called relaxing Spring Break!  ITS NOT RELAXING!  LOL!  Today I took my boys to the children's museum.  Well mind you my boys are 5 and 9 months old.  So my 5 year old wanted to run around and explore everything and so did my 9 month old but he is not walking that well so I was stuck carrying him.  Let me tell you if I didn't have arm muscles before I do now because carrying a baby for a couple of hours is the best arm workout ever!  My arms are so sore.  The Childrens Museum was recently renovated here in Las Vegas so let me tell you everyone and their mama was there.  It was craaaazy town in there.  My boys had a blast though so I guess thats all that matters right?

I have been working very hard finishing some units and the first one I want to present to you is....  drumroll please........

                                                                           Earth Day!
(ok you might have guessed it because that's the title of my post but hey its late over here and creative juices were left and the Childrens Museum)
My students loved this unit escpecially getting to be the Earth Day Patrol.  They loved the power of telling people they are not taking care of the Earth and then writing them a citation.  You must check it out, click on the pics to take you over to TPT.

Vocabulary Cards

Students will fill in this booklet by telling us how they will help the Earth and adding illustrations.

Bulletin Board Freebie

Hello,
Well today was my first official day off and my word it was not relaxing at all.  This was not part of my plan. We went grocery shopping and cleaned the house.  What!!!!!   Well at least I dont have to do it the rest of the week.

Well like I promised I have a little freebie.  A couple of weeks ago we had Reading Week at my school.  The first grade team usually reserves this week to do a Dr. Seuss Author study.  We each pick a book and decorate our bulletin boards with that theme.  I chose the book "Oh, The Places You Will Go"  I love that book.  I don't know about you all but it always gets me thinking of where my sweet little first graders will be in 20 years.  Well anyways!  I get so sidetracked.  I saw on Pinterest a darling bulletin board with the hot air ballons but I didn't see a template so I made one and have decided to share with you.  Check out how my board came out.  I took a picture of the kiddos and added them on their balloon, they loooved the whole project.

So just click on the picture to head on over to my TPT to download your freebie.  Hope you enjoy!

Its Spring Break!

Hey Everyone!
I don't know about all of you but I am so excited to be on Spring Break.  Not only has this year been craaaaazy because of switching over to common core and so many changes to our curriculum but I have also been going through a lot of changes.

I use to blog with my dear friend at Teaming Up To Teach but I decided it was time for me to start my own blog.  We are still good friends so don't you freak out on me.  LOL!   It was very tough to walk away since we both worked so hard to get it up and running but I think it was the best decision.  This way we can guest post on each others blogs.  Its tough to start all over with NO followers but Im sure soon enough my friends will find me.

Well anyways back to Spring Break!  Yahoooo!  Can you tell how excited I am.  I have the whole week planned.  First I will wake up late  (yeah right I have a 9 month old and a 5 year old, that doesn't happen anymore)  Ok let me rephrase that, First I will wake up when the kids wake me up and I wont set an alarm clock.   Yes, I know people I am living on the wild side!  Second I wont get out of my pajamas until 11 am to change into comfy yoga pants.  Ha!  Did you really think I was going to get into real clothes.  NO WAY!  Third we will build forts in the living room, play pirates, and have picnics in the back yard.  Oh yes people Spring Break in our house is major party central.  I would not trade it for the world.

I hope you enjoy as much as I do.  Stay tuned for a freebie tomorrow!
