Poetry freebie and a giveaway!

Hello!!!!
If you were a follower over at Teaming Up To Teach you might remember this post.  I use these in my classroom in the beginning of the year.  Then as the year continues we add different poems to our folders.  Now this year has been a little different because there have been so many changes but I will definitely get back on the Poetry train and what better month than April since its poetry month.  

ABC Poems

.  I received these from a mentor teacher and spruced them up I am not taking credit for these.  They were given to me and if I could find the author I would definitely give credit where its due. I use these poems at the beginning of the year because we are reviewing and working through different letters of the alphabet. We work on one or two a day depending on time. We read it out loud together. Then they illustrate the poem in the box provided. Then I will ask them to find different things within the poem. I might ask them to underline all the "a" words or look for the words that have a short vowel sound. Another thing that I have them do is circle the different punctuation marks used in each poem. The possibilities are endless so it all depends how much time you have.
